Mission & Vision
At Brandeis Hebrew Academy, we are dedicated to providing our students with an exceptional General and Judaic education that equals or surpasses the standards of the finest schools in our neighboring districts. Our mission is to inspire every child to cultivate a lifelong love of learning, to strive for their personal best in academic excellence, to develop the ability to think independently and analytically, and to grow into knowledgeable, confident individuals who take pride in our rich religious and cultural heritage.
The Hebrew language is at the heart of this journey. It opens the door to Jewish practice, culture, and history, and allows students to engage meaningfully with classical texts such as Chumash, Mishnah, Navi, and the Siddur.
We nurture an environment where Jewish values guide our daily life. Principles such as Derech Eretz (ethical behavior), Tzedakah (acts of charity), K’lal Israel (the unity of the Jewish people), Tikun Olam (the betterment of the world), Kedushah (sacredness), Mitzvot (commandments), and Tefilah (prayer) are woven into the fabric of our school community and instilled in our students.
Our vision is to strengthen each student’s Jewish identity, deepen their love for Judaism and Israel, and prepare them to be active, thoughtful, and engaged citizens in both twenty-first century America and K’lal Israel.
Rooted in more than 90 years of tradition, our mission reflects the vision of our founder, Rabbi Irving Miller, who recognized the importance of a curriculum that unites Jewish and American values as the foundation for a successful and meaningful life. Today, the continued strength of Brandeis Hebrew Academy lies in our commitment to excellence in both General and Judaic studies, ensuring that the light of Judaism and the pursuit of knowledge shine brightly for every child, from generation to generation.
