Building a Jewish Future
Our Judaic Studies curriculum nurtures in every child a deep love for Jewish tradition, values, Israel, and the Hebrew language. This love shines through in their celebration of Shabbat, their heartfelt Tefillah, and their connection to Torah. From Nursery through Eighth Grade, students grow in an environment where Jewish values are lived each day through prayer, song, and meaningful observances. The memories of these joyful experiences remain with our graduates as they carry forward the traditions of Brandeis Hebrew Academy.
Throughout the year, students take part in celebrations that mark important milestones and holidays. In First Grade, children receive their very first Siddur during a moving performance and presentation. In Second Grade, each child is honored with a Chumash at a special ceremony. By Sixth Grade, students guide the entire school in a festive Model Seder, complete with a celebratory meal.
As students mature, their leadership deepens. Seventh Graders lead the Yom Hashoah program, while Eighth Graders guide the community through Yom Hazikaron. Middle school students who choose to celebrate their Bar Mitzvah with classmates have the opportunity to lead Tefillah, read from the Torah, or share a Dvar Torah. Each student is presented with a special gift and honored with a celebratory breakfast, marking this special milestone with joy and pride.
